A step-by-step injury rehabilitation and performance system for athletes.

New Here?Start With The Path.

Wherever you are right now, a nagging niggle, back from an injury, or just tired of holding back, this is the route.

Eight steps, in order. Work top to bottom, or jump to the one that fits you. You will always know what comes next.

The Path

From New Here, To Confident Again

  1. 1
    Understand

Understand Why Pain-Free Athletes Still Underperform

You cannot fix what you do not understand. Before any exercise, get your head around why you can be pain free and strong yet still not feel right. It takes five minutes and it makes everything after it click.

    Read the method
  2. 2
    Map

The V Exercise: Mapping Your Injury History

Your body has a history, and it is holding the answer. We use a tool called The V to map it. It is the fastest way we know to connect the dots and find the real root of a problem.

Do this. Grab a pen and draw a big letter V.

The left side is your past

Finish this sentence. "I have never felt quite the same since..." Start there, and map backwards and forwards. Old injuries, even ones you think healed. Big training spikes. Stressful patches at work or in life. Do not leave anything out. The ankle you rolled years ago made your rowing crew adapt, and some of those patterns might still be running today.

The right side is your future

Where do you want to get back to, and beyond. What do you want to do without thinking. And be honest about the flip side. What are you avoiding right now, just in case. We need both.

Most people are brilliant at telling you what they do not want to feel. Far worse at saying what they do. Get clear on what you want, because your attention system finds what you point it at.

  3. 3
    Assess

How To Assess Your Own Injury Before Starting Rehab

Now find out what is actually going on. Pick your body part, screen for anything that needs a professional eye, then check whether your body is sharing the load or leaving it to one area.

    Build

Build Your Robustness: The Three-Phase Rehab Programme

This is the work. The programme that restores the coordination, in the order your nervous system needs it.

The three phases, every session, in this order:

    1. 1

Isometrics. Wake the tissues up. Tension without movement.

    2. 2

Load Tolerance. Teach the crew to share the load again.

    3. 3

Deceleration Tolerance. Learn to absorb and control force. This is where most injuries happen, and where most people never train.

The week. Two structured days, Day 1 and Day 2. Most people run it twice a week. If you recover well and want it faster, four times. Quality over quantity, every time.

    Follow the drills
  5. 5
    Progress

    Earn the right to progress

Here is what keeps you safe. You do not move to the next thing because a calendar says so. You move on when you pass the checkpoint. We call them tripwires, and they have taken over ten years to refine in professional sport.

You have earned the next level when

    • You can do the Midfoot Foam Roller Bridge for 12 reps without cramping.
    • You can hold a Single Leg Reverse Plank steadily for 30 seconds.
    • You can do the Soleus Slouch with smooth knee co-contraction, without the knee snapping back.

And watch for the shift from rigid to relaxed

It is the real sign it is working.

    • The movement stops feeling stiff and starts to flow.
    • You stop holding your breath during the hard positions.
    • It speeds up on its own.
    • It starts to feel easy. Not because you are just stronger, but because you are coordinated.

That is your nervous system moving from protection to performance.

  6. 6
    Mind

    Train the whole kingdom

The drills are only half the job. Alongside them, every day, you work the mental side. This is not a nice extra. For the stubborn stuff it is the whole game.

    • Calm the lizard with breathwork.
    • Guide the elephant by rewriting the story and collecting daily evidence.
    • Point the monkeys at better questions.
A few minutes a day. The tools are in the method
  7. 7
    Resilience

From Robustness To Resilience: How To Return To Sport After Injury

Once the foundation is solid, you take it into the real world. Add speed. Add chaos. Add the unpredictable demands of your sport. And now, on top of a crew that rows together, you add strength, and it finally transfers.

This is the step most people never reach, because they skipped the robustness. You will not.

  8. 8
    Keep Going

    Keep going

The athletes who stay resilient aren't the ones who never get setbacks. They're the ones who know what to do when they feel one coming. That knowledge doesn't disappear. It compounds.

This is the start, not the finish. Your lizard does not disappear. Life keeps happening. The difference is you now have the knowledge to spot it, and the skills to act.

    Where to go from here:

The Final Word

Trust The Process

Progress is not a straight line. Some days flow, some days the old patterns try to come back. That is normal. Keep showing up, keep passing the checkpoints, and your body starts to trust itself again.

Your body is not broken. What is holding you back is conflict in your kingdom. Sort that, in this order, and you unlock a level you did not know was there.
