Now, read on and have all your burning questions answered.
‘Can I Be Pain Free In Just One Session?’
This would absolutely be the dream outcome in most cases. BUT what does being pain free mean to you? What do you actually want to be able to do whilst remaining pain free?
We understand that it is important to get back to normality as soon as possible but it is very rare that anyone can be completely pain free after just one session as the term ‘pain free’ ultimately depends on the things that you need and want to be able to do in your day-to-day life without pain.
Now, here at ProSport we want patients to understand the process of getting back to a pain free life. We not only want to get you pain free, but we want to get you pain free doing the things you need and want and stop the pain from returning time and time again.
Your therapist will suggest a number of sessions to you based on your assessment, half way through this plan we would like to have achieved a pain free scenario. This is perfect because it means we can spend the remaining time ensuring that the pain isn’t going to come back.
To be pain free and stop the problem from returning this requires your body to use muscles efficiently throughout the body, this unfortunately takes more than one session.
‘How Much Is Physio Going To Cost?’
At ProSport we take a different approach to physiotherapy. Our approach has seen thousands of patients come through our doors and get back to full health doing the things they love. We provide a world class service and not only care about the short term effects of physio but the long term effects and implications on YOUR life.
We know that your health is worth investing in. We are aware that short term fixes result in the pain coming back time and time again. Overall this is a lot of money you are spending over a long period of time to try to fix pain that continues to keep coming back.
Does this sound familiar to you? Then why not fix the problem once and for all?
Our prices are above the average but at ProSport we offer something different. We offer a service like no other and promise to help you get back doing the things you love. If you do not see results in 3 sessions then we offer a full refund guarantee! Yes you heard that right.
‘Can I Just Have Hands-on Treatment?”
If this is what you want then yes.
Sports massage is one of our services and is carried out by any of our experienced therapists. It is a brilliant option if you are looking for a pre or post event, or just want to ease muscle tightness in a specific area.
Sports massage however is not appropriate if you have a long standing problem that you want fixing. This will require an assessment to identify areas that are not working hard enough and areas that are doing too much. This will give you a better idea as to what the deeper problem is.
‘Does My Medical History Really Matter?’
As mentioned above the aim of your sessions is to get your body moving as efficiently as possible and stop the pain once and for all. In order to do this we want to know WHY the body is moving this way in the first place and identify HOW we are going to address the problem to put the steps in place to get you PAIN FREE.
In most cases if the pain is not a result of a traumatic injury then there is another reason as to WHY you are experiencing this pain. Your body will pick up movement habits, strategies and ways of moving to overcome any previous injuries.
For example, if you have hurt your knee, naturally your body will not want to put too much pressure through the knee, as a result other muscles start working harder to try and protect your body from pain. Over time these other muscles that have been working harder will then become stiff and sore and result in pain in another part of the body.
This is why it is important to mention all of your medical history even if you think it is not related to the problem you are experiencing at present.
‘How Long Will Physio Take?’
This will completely depend on the injury you are presenting with, how long you have had it for, what your injury history is like, and what things you want to get back to doing.
If you have a comprehensive history of injuries over a long period of time, and want to get back to doing something that is very physically demanding on the body then understandably this will take more time to be completely pain free.
On the other hand, if you have a new injury with no previous injuries, which may have only become present in the last few days then this will take less time.
With this being said, it is important that you also put the time and effort into the sessions and take the time to do the rehab you have been set as this will encourage your body to move more efficiently and therefore you are more likely to progress sooner through the plan.
